We are currently seeking an experienced Diagnostic Medical Sonographer. The incumbent will be responsible for conducting a full spectrum of ultrasound imaging procedures, documenting activity, and maintaining a clean/orderly and patient-centered environment. The position reports to the clinic director and the department medical director.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Routine and specialized ultrasound procedures including gynecology, infertility, obstetrics, and nuchal translucency
• Compliance with physician orders and clinic policies
• Maintain clean, orderly environment
• Record and/or archive all scans
• Attention to detail and to patient comfort
• Coordinate equipment maintenance/repair as needed
• Other duties as assigned
Leadership
• Support regular education of staff
• Participate in regular case reviews with physicians for constant learning
• Identify and recommend outcomes-enhancing opportunities to management
• Oversee stocking of ultrasound materials by lab staff
Qualifications / Education
Required
• AAS degree in diagnostic medical sonography
• Current ARDMS certification in obstetrics and gynecology
• Minimum 2 years post-internship experience
• Ability to maneuver heavier patients for their ultrasounds
• Ability to maintain a tight schedule and be on foot for extended periods
• Team player with strong oral and written communicative ability
• Ability to produce detailed, accurate work under pressure and adhere to deadlines
• Quick thinking and excellent understanding of human anatomy
• Familiarity with safety regulations and sterile technique
• Passion for quality, woman-centered care
Desired
• 5 years post-internship experience
• Experience in OB/GYN or perinatal setting
• Familiarity with AIUM protocol/guidelines
• BLS/CPR certification (will be required within 1 year)
• NT certification (will be required within 1 year)
Work Environment
Our sonographers see patients Monday-Friday between 8:00 am and 4:30 pm. There is an occasional opportunity for evening hours during busy season. All our physicians are on-site and collaborate closely with sonographers throughout each day.

Diagnostic Medical Sonographer
Full-Time – Days, Evenings, Nights, and Weekend Rotations
Position Purpose:
Provide diagnostic ultrasound scans of patients for physician diagnosis utilizing ultrasound equipment and appropriate technical knowledge and skills. May perform mobile ultrasound examinations for out-of-town locations.
Education, Experience, & Skills (Minimum Requirement):
Must have completed an educational program in ultrasonography or equivalent work experience. Prior experience as a sonographer is preferred. Must have knowledge of ultrasound scanning procedures in the areas of OB/GYN, Abdominal and Vascular.
Licensure/Certification Requirement:
Must be registered with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers. If not registered, must obtain registry in Abdomen, OB/GYN and Vascular Technology within 18 months of hire. Employees working in mobile unit must have valid driver’s license and a good driving record (manager is accountable to ensure licensure is maintained).

Supervisor Diagnostic Sonography (Job ID 424247)
Responsibilities:
- Supervise, coordinate and lead the daily activities of the Ultrasound department, including staffing, technical assistance, equipment maintenance, policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years experience as a Diagnostic Sonographer.
- Associate degree from a School of Ultrasound (2 year minimum); or graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology, and graduate of a school of Ultrasound (1 or 2 year program); or Graduate of an accredited school of Radiology Technology and ARDMS registry eligible.
- Previous supervisory experience preferred.
- Must be proficient in all applications of diagnostic ultrasound, including abdominal / small parts, OB / GYN and vascular procedures.
- Must be able to work independently as well as in a team environment.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to effectively collaborate with other departments.
- Excellent problem solving and conflict resolution.
- Excellent planning, coordinating and decision making skills.
- Excellent technical ability.
- Strong vascular experience preferred.
