History of MSDU

1975.png

Twin Cities Ultrasound Society is founded on September 24, 1975, serving sonographers in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area.

In September of 1980, the name changed to the Minnesota Society of Diagnostic Ultrasound (MSDU) to represent the entire state.

In March of 2013, the Society becomes the Midwest Society of Diagnostic Ultrasound, reflecting a broader regional mission to serve sonographers and sonologists across the Midwest.

The Midwest Society of Diagnostic Ultrasound (MSDU) is a thriving nonprofit community of sonographers, educators, students, and healthcare professionals. Each year, we bring together hundreds of attendees from across the Midwest at our annual conference — a dynamic gathering focused on continuing education, career advancement, and professional connection.

We promote sonography through education, collaboration, and connection.

In compliance with the guidelines set forth by the national organization, the Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (SDMS), the purpose of our society is to promote, advance and educate its members and the medical community in the science of diagnostic medical sonography.

Our society, which is nonprofit, nonpolitical and nonsectarian holds the core purpose of enhancing the art and science of medicine by promoting the ultrasound profession through education.

We continually strive to raise the standard of ultrasound practice within the Midwest through our educational activities.
